Whiter teeth have always been regarded as a precious gift of God. But, many people don’t realize the importance of their white teeth until they lose its shine. There are many factors that affect the change in color of your teeth. The major causes for discoloration of teeth are aerated drinks, fluorosis, meditation, smoking, tea, tobacco and aging .Heredity also plays an important role in tooth color.

Now, it is clear that you can lose the shine and brightness of your teeth. But, it is also true that you can now find some tooth bleaching products that can really work wonders for you. Actually, bleaching is an effective method of removing the stains on the teeth and thereby making it brighter. Bleaching was a practice in one or the other form for more than hundred years which means there surely are some amazing benefits of this particular option.

Bleaching is quite effective. Though aging stains comparatively take more time to become lighter, approximately 6 weeks but all other stains can easily be handled with bleaching.

Bleaching works due to the structure of your teeth. When you see the structure of a tooth it is the enamel that is seen outside as white. Actually the enamel is translucent and it is the color of the underlying structures that you see. The immediate underlying structures are dentin and nerves. That is the precise reason why these stains don’t respond to the intensity and frequency of brushing. That’s exactly when bleaching comes into play.

Normally 10% peroxide solution is used as bleaching agent which is safe. In fact, products containing peroxide are considered to be a perfect stain remover. Cabamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide are the most widely used. The oxygen from the peroxide penetrates enamel and reacts with dentin.

The good thing about these products is that you can use them at home. At home bleaching kits come in different forms but all these agents have the same effect.

1) Several tooth pastes come with carbamide peroxide in it.    Brushing with this toothpaste repeatedly improves the color of the teeth.

2) Bleaching strips are colorless polyethylene thin strips containing 10-15% carbamide peroxide which is considered to be safe. The treatment is easy to carry out. Gently press the strip over the teeth. Let it stay on your teeth throughout the night and you are done.

3) Whitening pens can also be used in this regard.

So, there are different forms of products that can be used to deal with stains. But, when using peroxide content, it is better to pay attention to its percentage. If peroxide content is more than 30%, the chances are high that you will damage soft tissues of your teeth.  Special protection methods are to be taken while performing bleaching at a dental clinic.

The bottom line is that bleaching products are perfect to get whiter teeth. Though there are home remedies for teeth bleaching but there is no guarantee that these will work in the right way. So, get a right bleaching product to get a sparkling smile.
